This morning the beautiful white heron was floating along above the water
and then into the sky of this the one world we all belong to
where everything sooner or later is a part of everything else
which thought made me feel for a little while quite beautiful myself (Poem of the One World, by Mary Oliver)
“God saw everything that he had made, and indeed, it was very good.” (Genesis 1:31)

I attended a lecture at the Greenfield Hill Congregational Church last evening. I attach an outline prepared and shared by the speaker, a doctoral student at the Yale Divinity School. The talk addressed the person of Jonathan Edwards and posited Edwards’s “fire and brimstone” theology contrasted with Edwards’s less known view that God can be seen in all of nature. The tension between the two is not easily resolved. For me the concept of visible creation and its evidence of God in the world regardless of and its inherent good very interesting. The talk lasted over an hour still you might want to take a look at it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yz9BurxCnCs https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yz9BurxCnCs&list=PLCiXIEIaCHDActFEbNF0s2pVfqY9q7Tcp&index=4 &list=PLCiXIEIaCHDActFEbNF0s2pVfqY9q7Tcp&index=4
