Fireworks

On Independence Day I decided to make some images of a fireworks display. Straight out of the camera some of the images looked like globs of white light, but with some work I was able to bring out the individual colors of each burst of light, each multiple burst.

I was intrigued by how the images resembled colorful abstract designs, each lasting for only a second or two, and then fading away into memory.

Each burst of fireworks is unique and unrepeatable, with a limited life-span, much like you and I. What colors do we show the world while we are here? How do we share the multi-hued light of God’s love with those who are eager to experience it?

“Everything has beauty, but not everyone sees it” (Confucius). Thank you for revealing the beauty underneath the brilliant white light of the fireworks.
