Living the faith

The story of the early Church is a story of growth through the impetus of the Holy Spirit poured out upon the disciples. The Church has continued to grow, because the Holy Spirit continues to call people to follow the Lord.

Many people are looking for a deeper meaning in life. Jesus gives us that and calls us to find meaning in living gospel values, values that Jesus himself lived by.

Pope Francis provided a valuable personal witness in what living gospel values looks like. He prioritized those on the margins of society. He showed us how to live the gospel in the modern age.

St. Francis, after whom Pope Francis is named, told us to preach the gospel always and to use words when necessary, meaning that the gospel is preached primarily by how we live our life. It’s not always easy to live what we believe, but the risen Lord is with us to strengthen us with divine presence, insight, and courage.

“They were all filled with the Holy Spirit and continued to speak the word of God with boldness.” (Acts 4:31)

Good Afternoon Fr. Ron, Thanks for another great collection of photos. (I was unable to respond to some of your recent posts as I was having issues with my outgoing mail server.) I see three themes here- birth, death and movement. On a separate topic, the world seems focused on the conclave. Fond regards, Lynn

Thanks, Lynn. We’re all waiting for the white smoke. The students here are fascinated by the whole process. Hope all is well.
