I love spending time viewing visual art of all types— museum works, graffiti, architecture, photography, classic and modern art, sculpture, painting, glass, etc. One of the things that attracts me to view art is the realization that I am witnessing a creative moment, or the culmination of a creative process, of the artist.
Viewing art encourages me to pursue my own creativity, whether it is in art or in other areas of life. Engaging in creative pursuits is one way I express the uniqueness of who I am. I give a gift to the world that only I can give.
In our creativity we mirror the creative activity of God. It’s a way for the creator to give glory to the Creator, a way for us to enter into active partnership with God in shaping our world in a positive way.
There is an energy that is conveyed in wonderful works of art, sometimes a powerfully striking energy, sometimes a gentle, soft energy. It’s experiencing this energy, this spirit, that motivates me to pursue my photography and give something beautiful to the world.

Creating beauty can be a healing and life-giving experience, both for the one who creates and the one who beholds. This can be a wonderful gift to a world that needs healing and life!
“God saw everything that he had made, and indeed, it was very good.” (Gen 1:31)
