Be renewed

In his letter to the Colossians, St. Paul urges us to put to death the sinful parts of our life–anger, immorality, greed, lying, obscene language, etc. and to be renewed in the image of Christ.

We’re all called to strive to be better and to live more like Christ in some way. We can grow and be renewed. The challenge is to figure out how and to follow through.

God certainly blesses our efforts to live a more Christ-like life, and one of the ways we can start over is through the Sacrament of Reconciliation.

In this sacrament we take an honest look at ourself, identify areas of sinfulness and alienation, celebrate God’s forgiveness, and receive grace to follow Christ more closely.

“May you be made strong with all the strength that comes from his glorious power…” (Colossians 1:11a)

As always, Fr Ron, these are beautiful pics. They are a harbinger of rebirth in that fall colors show the beauty in “dying”, as if that beauty portends the rebirth of nature in the spring.
