A connected trust

Sometimes facing the future can be a daunting task. Questions such as, “What am I going to do with my life?” or “How are things going to turn out?” and other questions voice concerns over our future.

The disciples also worried about the future, particularly after the death of Jesus, before the Holy Spirit descended on them on Pentecost. Thomas voiced his concern about the future by asking Jesus where he was going.

Jesus’ response of “I am the way, the truth, and the life.” didn’t give any concrete details to Thomas, but instead asked him to stay connected and to trust the process.

Let’s tune in to the Lord’s presence in our life, and trust that he’ll lead us in the right direction and help us make good decisions and to experience God’s reign on earth.

“Do not let your hearts be troubled. You have faith in God; have faith also in me.” (John 14:1)

  1. Fr. Ron,

I like the juxtaposition of images of things natural and fragile with images of things structural and “permanent”.

    1. Good observation. Totally unintentional on my part, but I see your point. Maybe there are unconscious stirrings at work here–more connections.
